ABOUT ME

I am a storyteller. Everything I do is about telling stories—my own, my students', a playwright's, or a corporation's.

I'm a Minneapolis-based actor/director, teacher and graphic designer.

My acting credits include Broadway productions of An Inspector Calls and Love! Valour! Compassion! I have also performed regionally with Jungle Theater, Oregon Shakespeare Festival (as part of the Asian American Theater Festival), Park Square Theater, Mu Performing Arts, The Playwrights Center, Frank Theatre, Alliance Theatre, Theatre in the Square, Theatrical Outfit, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Grand Central Theatre and the Costa Mesa Playhouse.

Film and television work includes roles in the films The Public Domain and To Say Goodbye, Lifetime's hit show "Drop Dead Diva", and recurring roles on  the daytime dramas All My Children and As the World Turns as well as numerous commercials, independent films, short films and industrial videos.

In addition to directing several readings and one-acts, I made my professional directing debut in 2016 by staging the world premier TRUST by John Woehrle at the Black Box Theater in St. Cloud, MN and The Lab Theater in Minneapolis, MN.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from California State University, Fullerton and a Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of South Carolina.

Additionally, I am a certified Meisner Teacher from Larry Silverberg's True Acting Institute. I completed the two-year Meisner training program at the William Esper Studio in New York, studied in The Shakespeare Lab at The New York Public Theatre and completed professional internships with Circle Repertory Theatre and Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Currently, I study with Raye Birk at The Guthrie Theatre and have completed Modules One and Two of the Teacher Certification program with Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium.

I have taught acting, voice and introduction to theater courses at Augsburg College, Macalester College, University of South Carolina, Kennesaw State University, and Clayton State University. I currently teach privately in my studio, Twin Cities Actor Training.

When I'm not acting, teaching or directing, I can usually be found working away on my laptop designing marketing materials or presentations for my corporate clients. To view some portfolio samples and see my client list, visit www.richremedios.com
